A Letter from the Editor
Tosha Harris, DNP APRN NNP-BC
Dear NANN and NANN-AP Readers,
I am filled with deep gratitude and reflection as I write this letter. Being a member of this organization has brought me tremendous satisfaction; it is where I have found professional fulfillment and personal growth among like-minded individuals who inspire me to be a better neonatal care educator and clinician. Through our collective efforts, we make significant strides in neonatal outcomes and support families during challenging times. Each interaction with my colleagues enriches my understanding and drives me to seek excellence in all that I do. Additionally, the volunteer opportunities within the organization allow us to contribute even more meaningfully to our mission.
Serving as the NANN E-News editor for the past four years has been an immense honor and privilege. From my very first article in January 2021 to these concluding ones, my goal has always been to bring you meaningful content that informs, engages, and inspires. Thank you to all the contributing authors that have crafted their submissions with meticulous care and a passion for excellence. Their commitment to our organization ensures that you, the reader, will have access to the most current evidence-based information. My gratitude towards them cannot be overstated. Every article has been an invaluable contribution to our newsletter.
To the NANN staff, I extend a heartfelt thank you for your patience, guidance, and professional respect. Your steadfast dedication has been instrumental in ensuring the success of our newsletter. Specifically, the resources you provide for editing, publishing, and other aspects ensure that each issue meets the highest standards. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality help us share crucial information that improves clinical practices and patient outcomes. By equipping us with the tools needed for effective communication, you play an essential role in advancing our mission of providing exceptional care. Thank you for being such an integral part of our journey. Your contributions are deeply appreciated.
While this marks the end of my tenure as editor, it also opens new doors for future endeavors. I am excited about what lies ahead both for me professionally and for the continued evolution of this publication in capable hands. I have the utmost confidence that my successor, Ashley Richardson, will continue to provide relevant content while also exploring new and exciting topics. I encourage all of you to submit your contributions; they are not just vital, but integral to our publication. Your unique perspectives and ideas enrich our community, and we look forward to featuring your work in future editions. Your expertise and willingness to share your knowledge will enrich our publication, and the articles you bring forth can contribute significantly to advancing our practice. Your hard work ensures that we continue to deliver relevant and engaging information that supports the professional growth of the NANN community.
In closing, I acknowledge the challenges we've all faced this past year. I encourage you to take some time to reflect on these events. What have you discovered about yourself and others? How will these insights shape your outlook and actions in the upcoming year? Perhaps you've uncovered new strengths or recognized areas for growth. Maybe you've learned valuable lessons from unexpected challenges or found joy in small victories. As you ponder on these questions, remember to be kind—not only to yourself but also to those around you. Everyone is fighting a battle you may know nothing about, and a little kindness can make a world of difference. Your reflections today can pave the way for a more thoughtful and compassionate tomorrow.
May yesterday's challenges remind you of your strength, and tomorrow's uncertainty motivate you to live your best life today. Thank you once again for being part of this incredible journey with me. Here's to new beginnings and endless possibilities!
With heartfelt appreciation,
Tosha
