- Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Tied to Risk of Hospital Readmission. Infants with neonatal abstinence syndrome were at an almost 2.5 times increased risk of being readmitted to the hospital within a month after birth than full-term infants born without complications, according to a study in Hospital Pediatrics.
