Grandfathering, Endorsement, and Other New "Rules" for APRNs

Initial release date: Wednesday, May 13, 2015

In the fall of 2014, the National Council of State Boards of Nursing delegate assembly approved new rules for licensure by endorsement and guidelines to govern "grandfathering" rules for advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs). This webinar discusses these new rules and utilizes a case-based approach to identify potential impacts on individual neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) practices.

Learning Objectives

  1. Compare and contrast the new recommendations for future regulation of APRN practice.
  2. Identify potential impacts on individual practice as it relates to the new recommendations.

Presented by Suzanne Staebler, DNP APRN NNP-BC FAANP, associate professor in the clinical track and specialty program coordinator for the NNP Program at the Neil Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University; NNP for the School of Medicine at Emory University; and health policy consultant for the Alliance for Patient Access.
