2024 Recipient
Chapter of the Year (Large) – Deanna Hill New England Chapter (NEANN)

The New England NANN Chapter (NEANN) is dedicated to challenging themselves, inspiring one another, and positively impacting the neonatal community through professional connections. This mission, adopted in 2023, guides all of their activities, ensuring value to patients, families, and anyone engaged in work to improve outcomes for babies. They believe strongly that by engaging in collaborative work, we are “better together”.
Since the pandemic, NEANN has focused on driving engagement with interactive, fun events, showcasing nurse-led initiatives and the latest in care practices. In 2024, they will be focused on engaging the next generation of NICU nurses through leadership events, conference activities, and membership initiatives. To address concerns about increased NANN fees, the chapter voted to drop its own fees, easing the financial burden on their members.
Despite challenges, NEANN achieved a 19% increase in membership in 2023 and has supported the professional advancement of several nurses through scholarships. Their focus in 2024 will be on finding creative revenue-generating strategies, such as a donation button on their website, a NEANN “swag” gear sale, and setting up a scholarship fund.
NEANN’s programs include webinars, an annual conference, a Fall Dinner Symposium, and various leadership and social events throughout the year. Their programs aim to bring people together to share ideas, develop regional improvement initiatives and highlight nurses making a difference at the bedside, in academia, in the laboratory, and in leadership roles from around New England. All events feature outreach activities to support the local community, with presenters and industry partners provided with branded cards for LinkedIn visibility, and ensuring cross-visibility with NANN on social media. Congratulations to the 2024 Large Chapter of the Year recipient, The New England NANN Chapter!
