Happy 2026 from the NANN Board of Directors!

If you did not have the opportunity to join us at our 41st Annual Conference and business meeting, I welcomed Dr. Barbara Snapp as NANN’s President-Elect. Throughout her career, Dr. Snapp has championed professional development, research innovation, and evidence-based care, mentoring countless neonatal nurses and nurse practitioners along the way. Her election signals a continued commitment to advancing neonatal care, elevating the voice of neonatal nurses and APRNs, and supporting the next generation of nurse leaders. With more than 30 years of active engagement with NANN, Dr. Snapp brings a deep wealth of experience, commitment, and visionary leadership to this national role.

As we begin 2026, the NANN Board of Directors is energized by the progress we have made together and excited to share how our association continues to invest in connection, innovation, and value for neonatal nurses and the entire neonatal care team. We are looking to strengthen and grow our membership by 7% in 2026, which is approximately 500 new members. I encourage each of you to take on the personal challenge of sharing your NANN experience with other nurses, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare associates. NANN has diversified our membership options to include e-membership and associate membership. We have made recruitment easy with our Member Referral Program and Member Recruitment Toolkit. For a group of new NANN members, our Group Membership Discount is easy and rewarding. We are also pleased to share that digital Advances in Neonatal Care journal access is now available to retired members, adding meaningful value to this membership category.

In 2025, NANNcast released 14 episodes, and planning is underway for new content in 2026 featuring timely and innovative topics, from growth curves and environmental health to psychological safety, AI in neonatology, and long-term outcomes of prematurity. In response to member requests for additional free CE, look for NANNcast+ modules, a NANN membership exclusive, in which CE can be claimed.

In February, NANN, in partnership with Synova, will welcome a new cohort of 13 Emerging Leaders as the 2026 Emerging Leaders Fellowship launches. International engagement also continues, with strong interest in NANN-led delegations, including our upcoming delegation to Spain.

Thank you for your continued dedication to NANN and to neonatal nursing. Your voice, your referrals, and your involvement truly make a difference. Together, we are building a stronger association and shaping the future of neonatal care.
