Consensus Model

Consensus Model for APRN Regulation: Licensure, Accreditation, Certification, and Education (LACE)

The Consensus Model for APRN Regulation is the model for regulation of advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) and is the product of substantial work conducted by the APRN Consensus Work Group and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) APRN Advisory Committee. The model has been accepted and was adopted at the 2008 NCSBN General Delegate Assembly for implementation by 2015.

Currently, the focus of adoption and implementation of the Consensus Model is at the state level. Advocacy efforts should target state legislators.
