NANNP Council

The National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN) is seeking nominations for the following open board positions:

  • President-Elect
  • Director-at-Large (2)
  • Staff Nurse Director-at-Large

Desired Candidate Attributes

  • Demonstrated universal leadership competencies such as vision, strategic thinking, integrity, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong experience in one or more of the following essential competencies:
    • Administration
    • Advocacy
    • Clinical Care
    • Education
    • Quality Improvement
    • Research
  • Demonstrated leadership and volunteerism within NANN, NANNP, or other professional associations.

Positions

President-Elect

The President-Elect will perform the duties of the President in the absence or disability of the president. He or she will serve as the chair of the Bylaws Committee and will also serve as the liaison to other committees or organizations as assigned. The President-Elect will also perform other duties as may be assigned by the NANN Board of Directors. At the conclusion of the President-Elect’s term, he or she will succeed to presidency of the NANN Board of Directors.

Term

• One-year term as President-Elect, followed by a two-year term as President, and a one-year term as Immediate Past President.

• Elected board member’s terms being immediately after the 2017 NANN Annual Educational conference

Qualifications

• Must be a member in good standing in the Association for at least three years prior to election to the Board of Directors.

• Must be an RN with a minimum of a Master’s degree related to nursing.

• Must be currently practicing in neonatal nursing in a role such as clinical care, education, research, administration, or consulting.

• Must be able to make a four-year commitment to NANN (one year as President-Elect, two years as President, and one year as Immediate Past President).

• Must have served at least one term on the Board of Directors.

• Must have demonstrated leadership in NANN, as evidenced by active participation at the local, chapter or national level as an officer or as a member of the Board of Directors, a council, a committee, task force, or organizational liaison.

• Must have the ability to meet the obligations and time commitments of this office and that of the President (including frequent travel), to attend regularly scheduled meetings, conference calls, and to regularly check and respond to electronic messages.

 

Director-at-Large (2 open positions)

The Director-at-Large will supervise the affairs and policies of the association, which will be guided by recommendations of the association in accordance with the Bylaws. They will also liaise with committee chairs and task forces and other organizations as assigned to facilitate communication between members, committee chairpersons, other organization leaders, and the Board of Directors.

Term

• Two-year term with the option for to serve a maximum of two consecutive terms.

• Elected board member’s terms being immediately after the 2017 NANN Annual Educational conference

Qualifications

• Must be a NANN member in good standing for at least three years

• Must be an RN currently practicing in neonatal nursing in a role such as clinical care, education, research, administration, or consulting.

 

 

Staff Nurse Director-at-Large

The Staff Nurse Director-at-Large will supervise the affairs and policies of the association, which will be guided by recommendations of the association in accordance with the Bylaws. They will also liaise with committee chairs, task forces, and other organizations as assigned to facilitate communication between members, committee chairpersons, organization leaders, and the Board of Directors.

Term

• Two-year term with the option for to serve a maximum of two consecutive terms.

• Elected board member’s terms being immediately after the 2017 NANN Annual Educational conference

Qualifications

• Must be a NANN member in good standing for at least three years

• Must be a staff nurse

• Must be an RN currently practicing in neonatal nursing in a role such as clinical care, education, research, administration, or consulting.

NANNP Council

The NANNP Council is the governing body of NANNP. Council members collaborate to manage the general affairs of NANNP. Their duties include overseeing programs, projects, and publications, and serving as liaisons to assigned committees, task forces, and related organizations.

The National Association of Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NANNP) is seeking nominations for three open council positions.

Qualifications for Nomination

  • Must be a NANN and NANNP member.

Must be an NNP currently involved in neonatal nursing care through clinical practice, education, research, management, or consulting.

Term Length

  • Two-year term with the option for to serve a maximum of two consecutive terms.
  • Elected council members’ terms begin immediately after the 2017 Annual Educational Conference.

Desired Candidate Attributes
